Also, does more careful meal planning inspire more beautiful dining, or does a pretty table make you care more about what goes on it?
Deep thoughts.
All just for these photos:
Tabletop items scrounged from around the house (not the tablecloth and runner, which are new - $10 and $7 respectively, on "clearance" at Homegoods).
left to right: Friday night's Friday Night Chili (by Tosca Reno); the last of the kimchi from who knows when, but no matter, it gets better as it ages; brown rice
This was amazing.
Two kinds of kimchi: radish and cabbage. Did you know kimchi prevents winter colds? Yes, it's true!
Upcoming (as much for my planning purposes, as for you, I'm admitting): our son's simple birthday, by request (!!!!) and a better ice cream cake (not Fudgie the Whale or Cookie Puss, the merits of which Kevin, Monica, and I had a great time discussing Sunday night).
Have a lovely day, sweet readers!!!
I think I'd need a Zantac on that table next to the chili and over-ripe kimchee (which looks yummy) ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! The kimchi is definitely spicy, but I made the chili completely non-spicy, since otherwise my kids won't eat it.
ReplyDeleteThe baby used to eat all manner of spicy things (he still loves kimchi - I'm sure it's innate, seeing as his biological mother probably ate tons of it when she was pregnant), but he's outgrowing it! I'm so sad about that!
Anyway, thanks for your comment, aangto! Made me smile!
